November Night

Listen...
With faint dry sound,
Like steps of passing ghosts,
The leaves, frost-crisp'd, break from the trees
And fall.

Poem by Adelaide Crapsey. Rrom The New Poetry: An Anthology,
edited by Harriet Monroe and Alice Corbin Henderson.
Published in New York by The Macmillan Company in 1917.
